Ultrasound Doppler Velocity Profiling (UVP) method features a line measurement obtaining several 1D aligned velocity points away from the measuring probe, thus non-intrusive. Leeds University (as part of the DIAMOND university consortium) is testing an ultrasonic velocity profiler (UVP). It was used to the measure the settling rates of aggregated glass dispersions as well as the build up and compression of the sediment bed.
