VCADS (Versatile Collimator and Deployment System) is a multipurpose radiometric characterisation tool developed by Sellafield Ltd Radiometric Characterisation Team to support decommissioning on the site. The system combines radiometric detectors (Gamma Dose or Medium Resolution Gamma Spectrometry), customisable shielding and collimators, lighting, laser range finder and optical cameras to provide a customisable platform for characterisation challenges. It can be deployed manually or remotely (using remote inspection poles or robotic platforms).
