A camera system using alpha-induced fluorescence to identify alpha contamination. It capture the ultra-faint ultraviolet light produced when alpha particles excite nitrogen molecules in the air. The ultra-sensitive cameras can detect this fluorescence from many metres away, allowing contamination to be identified remotely with millimetric precision.
