The Advanced Blind-Tube Apparatus for Characterisation of Underground Sources (ABACUS) is a subsurface monitoring technology for in-ground monitoring. It is a compact, winch-deployable gamma spectrometer designed to operate in narrow blind tubes and hostile environments, with a waterproof sensor head capable of deployment to depths of 100 metres.
