DCICs (Ductile Cast Iron Containers) is a Robust Shielded Container (RSC) for the long-term storage and eventual disposal of ILW. They are available in two types: cylindrical or box. They are self shielding in that there is a concrete liner within the cast iron. Radioactive waste can then be stored without the need for a shielded storage facility.
