Ferro-fluids (eg Magnatec oil )

Overview
Ferro-fluids such as Magnatec oil which stays attached to the parts that need lubricating. The mixture consists of nanoscale ferromagnetic particles (like magnetite or iron oxide), a carrier liquid base (oil, water, or a curing polymer as a sealant), and a surfactant (like oleic acid). A surfactant coats each tiny particle to prevent them from clumping together due to magnetic or Van der Waals forces, ensuring they remain evenly suspended in the liquid. When a magnet is brought close, the liquid conforms to the shape of the magnetic field, often forming a characteristic "spiked" pattern due to the balance of magnetic forces and surface tension.
