A variation on a crane which is composed of two platforms, upper and lower, connected by wire ropes and positioned by multiple hoists. The hoists raise and lower the platform and can sustain significant horizontal loads and torque generated by tools. This rigid platform provides a delivery system for remote tooling that is required in long-term projects like the dismantling of the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant.
