Overview
A chemical that coats nerve cells in the brain. It glows brightly in the presence of dopamine to reveal its concentrations and spread in the brain. The decline in dopamine production is seen in Parkinson's disease that is linked to the onset of motor symptoms such as tremors and poor balance.
