Magnetic hydrogels are smart, water-swollen polymer networks embedded with magnetic particles that change shape, move, or heat up when exposed to an external magnetic field. They are made of a soft, flexible gel matrix (like a regular hydrogel) mixed with tiny magnetic bits, usually iron oxide nanoparticles. They react instantly to outside magnets without needing wires or physical contact. They can bend, crawl, heat up, or release trapped contents using remote magnetic control.
