Bombyx, which is Latin for silkworm, is an aerial fibre deployment robot. It is designed to wrap a fibre optic cable around existing electrical distribution power lines (while they are still live). By using the existing infrastructure, the aim is to make it cheaper for internet service providers to build their networks using super-fast and reliable fiber connections.
