Overview
This autonomous underwater robot is for ocean exploration at depths of to to 6,000m. It carries out its mission without the aid of a pilot. Thanks to algorithms that analyze data, it is an active explorer: based on the clues it detects, it modifies its trajectory. Ulyx is powered by batteries for fully autonomous missions of up to 48 hours. It is being used to map the 200,000 barrels of radioactive waste that were dumped in the northeast Atlantic prior to banning in the early 1990s.
