Overview
A robotic arm designed to fit through a 4 inch port to inspect pits (underground rooms containing valves that route waste from underground storage tanks). The arm is up to 4m long with up to four joints and can utilize numerous end effectors (typically a camera for visual inspection). The Idaho National Lab (INL) is working to create an autonomous robotic pit inspection system utilizing various coordinated robots and this is one of them.
