Overview
The Heavy Manipulation Robotic Hot Cell uses Argonne’s dual-armed telerobotic system to manage radioactive or hazardous materials safely from a distance. This system allow operators to use touch-sensitive haptic gloves and virtual reality to manipulate, sort, and dismantle components in environments where human entry is impossible. It was demonstrated at OREM’s Transuranic Waste Processing Center facility on March 31st, 2026
