The Intelligent Drones for Port and Highways Technology (InDePTH) is a UK-based project investigating the use of automated, beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drones to monitor and manage critical transport infrastructure. The focus in using drone-in-a-box (DIAB) technology. For port management it will look at landside operations and marine tracking. For highway safety it will look at defect inspections and asset management. The system will combine AI, computer vision, and high-bandwidth networks to build digital models of active sites.
