Overview
A pneumatic bottom-up bulk retrieval vacuum system is to be utilized to empty granular radioactive waste from storage silos. It comprises a bulk vacuum system using a bottom-up pneumatic pickup design as the main tool to pull out sand-like calcine waste from storage bins. Directional Nozzles to produce high flow-rate air to push stubborn residual grains directly into the active vacuum line. Articulated Arms (DAR-1) that are custom mechanical arms to reach around tight ring-shaped internal bin structures to sweep remaining dust toward the vacuum and vacuum wall crawlers attached via suction pads to clean final residue off bin floors and walls.
