A 1.5-meter tracked robot with a manipulator arm for removing obstacles and collecting samples. It features a 3D camera, radiation detector, and heat and humidity sensors. MoniRobo weighs 600 kilos and is limited to a speed of 2.4 kilometers per hour. It is heavily shielded to harden the electronics from radiation. It can be remotely operated from a portable control room that was designed to fit inside a C-130 cargo aircraft for rapid deployment. The control center remains in a safe area and communicates with the robot via radio. Repeater stations can extend the range of the radio link if required.
