Compaction

Overview

A treatment method in which the bulk volume of a compressible material is reduced by application of external pressure, resulting in an increase in its density. Low-force compaction (5 tonnes to 200 tonnes) utilises a hydraulic or pneumatic press to compress waste to a suitable container such as a 200L drum.
