Phytoremediation

Overview

Phytoremediation is the direct use of green plants and their associated microorganisms to stabilize or reduce contamination in soils, sludges, sediments, surface water, or ground water. Phytoremediation comes from ancient Greek – phyto ‘plant’ and Latin remedium meaning ‘restore balance’.
