Electrokinetic Remediation
Catalogs:
Overview
Electrokinetic (EK) remediation is a soil treatment technology that uses a low-intensity direct current to mobilize and remove contaminants from soil. This process, also known as electrokinetic soil processing, electromigration, or electroreclamation, relies on applying an electric field to induce the movement of charged ions and water molecules, thereby transporting contaminants towards electrodes for removal.
