MaLaR

Overview
The MaLaR (Materials for Lanthanide Recovery) project is funded by the European Union under the EURATOM program. Rare earth metals are critical raw materials for the green and digital transitions, particularly for electric vehicles, wind turbines, and robotics. MaLaR uses advanced materials assembled from 2D sheets into 3D porous structures. These materials are designed at the atomic level to selectively extract lanthanides directly from aggressive, highly acidic nuclear waste solutions.
