This is a specialized vapor abatement unit designed to remove mercury and destroy toxic chemicals from nuclear waste tank emissions. It uses a carbon media bed and a diesel internal combustion engine to treat tank headspace gases. It uses chemically treated carbon media (MERSORB®) to strip mercury out of the waste vapors and high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters to capture solid particles from the intake gas.
