REAPER

Overview
REAPER (REcovery of Alpha Patient Enhancing Radionuclides) is an innovative nuclear medicine project focused on converting radioactive nuclear waste into life-saving cancer treatments via Targeted Alpha Therapies (TATs). The framework focuses on harvesting and recycling highly valuable parent isotopes from spent nuclear fuels, legacy research materials, and industrial waste streams. The process isolates parent isotopes, specifically Radium-226 (²²⁶Ra) and Radium-228 (²²⁸Ra), from reprocessed uranium or industrial leftovers. A multi-step dissolution and chemical extraction methodology then isolates Thorium-228 (²²⁸Th) in setups colloquially known as "thorium cows"
